Key features
  • RAC Cooling Industry ‘Building Energy Project of the Year’ 2020
  • Transformation of vacant space
Project scope

Situated in Hayes, Wealmoor, a leader in sub-tropical fruit and vegetable production, has transformed a vacant warehouse into a state-of-the-art food production and storage hub. The facility incorporates dehydration, storage, and refrigeration areas, all equipped with EHEDG-compliant drainage systems. A newly constructed mezzanine supports vital plant operations, cooling condensers, and M&E services, seamlessly integrated with an adjoining main office. With a strong commitment to sustainability, the Client implemented an innovative CO2 cooling system, which elevates the return temperature by three degrees Celsius, delivering a remarkable ten per cent energy saving and projecting annual savings of 2.2 million KW/h. As such, the project was awarded the RAC Cooling Industry ‘Building Energy Project of the Year’ 2020.
