Project scope

PMP have worked for Aston University on range of schemes, operating as part of the university’s framework since 2014, and acting as sole Quantity Surveyor since 2018. Over the years, we’ve successfully navigated the complexities of various schemes across education and commercial sectors, moving ever-closer towards the university’s 2030 strategy to drive ‘socio-economic transformation in Birmingham and the region through innovation, employability and a strong digital presence’.

MB4 Lecture Theatres:
Creation of new open plan teaching spaces for Maths an AMRI on the fourth floor of the main building. The project included the provision of 14 cellular offices, and three Harvard-style lecture theatres.

MB5 Pharmacy Labs:
Design and construction of Aston University’s new Pharmacy School to accommodate growing student numbers, built with inclusive features, including height-adjustable benches and audiovisual systems.
Value: £3.3m

MB7 Offices:
Refurbishment of the existing Estates office including HR and Finance on the 7th Floor of the main building, and associated offices and corridors.
Value: £420k

Citadel (John Cadbury House):
Transformation of the existing Citadel building into a Net Zero Hub, housing, commercial, retail and social spaces.
Value: £4m

Teaching Spaces:
Strip out of the existing teaching spaces and the minor reconfiguration, decoration and fit out to enhance teaching facilities, with associated first-floor works.
Value: £2.5m

South Wing:
Refurbishment of the existing South Wing offices.
Value: £100k

Student Solutions:
The restoration of the original building across different sections. The Student Solutions Centre comprises a full internal redesign with new electrics, updated plant, new ceilings, and data systems.
