Transforming the Citadel into a Net-Zero Carbon Hub for Aston University was an ambitious project procured through the Construction West Midlands Framework, aimed at consolidating the university’s professional services under one roof. This endeavour involved converting the existing Building into a state-of-the-art hub, comprising commercial, retail, and social spaces. The project included Cat A and Cat B offices, an operational net-zero carbon scheme, and complex logistical planning in a busy city centre. Significant M&E upgrades, and sustainable transportation initiatives enabled the Citadel’s net-zero carbon achievement. PMP’s understanding of Aston University’s needs and a collaborative approach ensured minimal disruption, with careful planning and out-of-hours work. This project stands as a testament to excellence, innovation, and sustainability, setting a new benchmark for future developments.
