Supported by a £4.5 million grant from the NHS, this transformative project reimagined an existing site to align with strategic plans for enhancing the town centre. The initiative was designed to expand services, reduce waiting times, and provide local access to specialists. The project involved replacing a building on the corner of Hatherton Street with a state-of-the-art, three-storey facility that unites four GP practices under one roof. This facility boasts a comprehensive array of consultation, treatment, and training rooms, an on-site pharmacy, and enhanced access for individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and families with children. These features collectively expand training opportunities and offer robust support for patients with complex needs. By integrating sustainable building and design practices, the project achieved a ‘BREEAM Excellent’ rating, significantly elevating the overall patient experience.
