During the industrial revolution, Birmingham blossomed into a vibrant business hub, rivalling London in culture, leisure, and enterprise. At the heart of this transformation is the Jewellery Quarter, home to Europe’s largest cluster of jewellery businesses, crafting over 40% of the UK’s jewellery. This iconic area thrives on continuous investment from local businesses, dedicated to restoring its historic charm. The Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI) harnesses this investment to rejuvenate the Jewellery Quarter, revitalising its streets and infusing them with new life and energy. PMP acted as Project Monitor for the following projects:
The Jointworks, Albion Street:
The restoration of a building into a co-working space for creatives, introducing open-plan working to the former workshops and breathing new life into the historic structure.

23-26 Warstone Lane:
The repair, restoration and refurbishment of the building to provide fit-for-purpose space for business and a number of small jewellery manufacturers.

51-53 Vittoria Street:
Exterior transformation to restore original architectural details to the Regent Place elevation and roof, to check that the building is wind and watertight, and safe for use.

9 Regent Place:
Some urgent repair works were required to the roof, brickwork, rainwater goods and windows in order to safeguard the building until the next phase of the proposed restoration can be undertaken by owners Ruskin Mill Trust.

Argent Centre:
Revitalisation of the Grade II* listed building to repair the roof, chimney, brickwork, and windows, and reconstruct the original turrets. The project won the Birmingham and West Midlands Victorian Society Conservation Award in 2021.
