The Bond, a former Victorian factory in the Digbeth Conservation Area, underwent redevelopment into a modern multipurpose facility. In 2021, plans were approved, supported by a £3 million investment from the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP). The former Bond Café was demolished, and the industrial warehouses converted into Cat A offices, tenant areas, and event space. The design cleverly incorporates historic elements of the former site and conservation are, visible in its unique layout and internal structure. A first step in developing a cluster of film, TV, games, and production facilities in Digbeth, The Bond highlights Birmingham’s commitment to city-wide economic growth, enriching the media landscape, and establishing itself as a cornerstone of innovative production in the region.
